About the talk
America’s approach to mental health isn’t working. Medical treatments have come a very long way, yet outcomes have gotten worse. And diagnoses of mental illness are skyrocketing. Dr. Tom Insel – neuroscientist, psychiatrist, former director of the National Institute of Mental Health and author of Healing: Our Path from Mental Illness to Mental Health – offers a broader perspective to this critical issue, calling for innovative solutions that go beyond medical to include social, environmental and policy opportunities. And most hopefully of all, when we focus proactively on the brain’s health and wellness, we might be able to mitigate and even prevent so much suffering down the road.
This talk will take place during our inaugural BrainHealth Week! Find out ways to participate here.
