The Cindy Thomas Women's BrainHealth Study

An elderly woman is thinking deeply while holding her glasses. Pensive. Older.

How Does Hormone Replacement Therapy Impact Brain Health?

We are seeking to evaluate the impact of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) on brain health and performance (ex: focus, memory, mood) in post-menopausal women.

Participants, who must be candidates for HRT and qualify for the study, will complete a set of online assessments to get a BrainHealth® Index at baseline, 6 months and 1 year.

This is a collaboration between the Center for BrainHealth and EVEXIAS Medical Center.

Who is Eligible?

  • Post-menopausal women

  • Clinical assessment determines the need for hormone replacement therapy (determined by EVEXIAS Medical Center)

  • Endorses cognitive complaints

What is involved?

After completing each of the three BrainHealth Index assessments, participants receive continuous hormone replacement therapy (hormone pellet implants), a value of up to $350 per treatment ($1050 total value).

After completing the third BrainHealth Index, participants also have an option for a virtual coaching session to learn more about any changes observed in their BrainHealth Index score over time along and receive personalized recommendations.

Hormone optimization has been shown to have many benefits, including better quality sleep, mood, depressive symptoms, anxiety, memory, sexual function, joint pain, and more.
