Focus and Relaxation Training Study

Can brain training enhance focus and relaxation?

Researchers at the Center for BrainHealth and The University of Texas at Dallas are recruiting participants for a study investigating the impact of focus training and relaxation techniques.

Who Is Eligible?

  • Ages 19 and up
  • Not pregnant
  • No diagnosis of color vision deficiency (color blindness)
  • No history or diagnosis of mental health disorders
  • Not currently taking antidepressants
  • Not currently using medication for mental health issues
  • No history of suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts
  • No regular, formal meditative practice

What Is Involved?

Participants engage in 8 weeks of online focus and relaxation training, including at-home training and two (2), in-person sessions (at Center for BrainHealth) that include cognitive testing.

Will participants be compensated?

  • Yes, you can receive up to $100 as a gift card.
  • UTD students may elect to receive up to four (4) SONA credits instead; SONA credits cannot be combined with monetary compensation.

Where is the study conducted?

  • The two (2) in-person sessions can take place at either Center for BrainHealth (2200 W. Mockingbird Ln. Dallas 75235) or at UT Dallas (800 N. Campbell Rd. Richardson 75080).
