Center for BrainHealth Battles COVID-Induced Stress With Brain Health Strategies & Tools

Center for BrainHealth

DALLAS (September 28, 2021) – Center for BrainHealth®, part of The University of Texas at Dallas, raised a record-breaking $71,896 during the 2021 North Texas Giving Day, which included a $33,000 matching gift from Laurie and Todd Platt. These gifts allow BrainHealth to deliver its signature initiative and landmark scientific study, The BrainHealth Project, to individuals from under-resourced communities in Dallas who have been particularly hard-hit by the effects of the pandemic, resulting in unprecedented increases in anxiety, depression, uncertainty, financial burden, and fear. Participants will learn life-changing strategies to strengthen their brain health and performance, which can lead to greater employment opportunities, higher educational attainment, and an enhanced overall quality of life. “We are conquering despair by helping people in underserved and vulnerable communities strengthen their resilience and brain power,” said Dr. Sandi Chapman, Distinguished Professor and Chief Director at Center for BrainHealth. “We are tremendously grateful to our compassionate and forward-looking donors for helping us improve lives by making brain health tools accessible within their own communities.” The BrainHealth Project is a major nationwide interventional endeavor designed to improve the brain health of people everywhere, ages 8-100, for at least the next 10 years. The Project offers a user-friendly digital platform that provides access to a holistic measure of brain health, virtual personalized coaching, and self-paced modules to learn brain healthy strategies and practices.
