Program Manager Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters

In her role with the Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters program, Lissette Glashan combines clinical expertise in neurological and movement disorders as well as progressive diseases. Her extensive clinical experience enables her to leverage the programming and content of this initiative to ensure its continued holistic, personalized and evidence-based approach.

Optimizing Our Most Powerful Tool

Lisette's collaboration in the Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters program is supported by a challenge grant generously offered by Adm. and Mrs. William McRaven – powered by the 2024 Bezos Courage & Civility Award that was presented to Adm. McRaven by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez.
A seasoned speech-language pathologist, Lissette Glashan has worked as a clinician in a variety of settings ranging from skilled nursing and rehabilitation, day neurological rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and as program director for a North Dallas non-profit for survivors of brain injuries. Since 2010, she has delivered evidence-based care and served as a subject-matter expert for adult survivors of acquired brain injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, strokes, concussions and other complex neurological disorders.

More Information

Lissette Glashan earned a BS in communication sciences and disorders from The University of Texas at Austin as well as an MS in speech-language pathology from Texas Woman’s University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is also a certified brain injury specialist. She currently lives in North Dallas and enjoys bowling, gardening and spending time with her husband, Alex, and their three small dogs.

Key Research and Publications

In joining Center for BrainHealth, Lissette Glashan continues to contribute to research that promotes brain health in the military and general population, building upon a career in clinical research and translational application. She has contributed to the growing knowledge of the impact of cognitive rehabilitation, including co-authoring the following peer-reviewed article.
