Overview

AWARE North Texas recently awarded new funding to Center for BrainHealth, a catalytic investment that strengthens the center’s mission to advance early detection and prevention of cognitive decline. The grant supports research within The BrainHealth Project — an ambitious, longitudinal study designed to identify the earliest, often invisible, indicators of Alzheimer’s risk and to understand how lifestyle, sleep, health conditions and brain training influence long‑term cognitive outcomes. This gift not only accelerates the center's ability to analyze large-scale data but also deepens its capacity to translate scientific insights into practical, personalized brain health strategies for the public. With an emphasis on proactive brain wellness, cognitive resilience and innovative training programs, this move will amplify their impact by helping shift Alzheimer’s work from late‑stage response to early‑stage intervention — potentially transforming how North Texas and beyond understand, measure and protect brain health across the lifespan.
