Thanks to a new, $1 million challenge grant from retired U.S. Navy four-star Admiral William McRaven and his wife, Georgeann, military veterans and active-duty service members will benefit from super-sized contributions to a proactive brain health program for another year.
Overview
Generous matching grants from the McRavens are helping to significantly expand a cutting-edge brain health initiative at the Center for BrainHealth. This program empowers service members, veterans, and their loved ones to proactively enhance cognitive resilience—backed by scientific research, strategic training, and measurable outcomes. The 2025 Bezos Courage and Civility Award winner have pledged a $1 million challenge grant to Center for BrainHealth at UT Dallas, extending their previous $2 million challenge match grant (which the center met in record time) to match all donations up to an additional $1 million through July 31, 2026.
