Following a recent executive order, the FDA has approved accelerating access to treatments for those with serious mental illnesses, including psychedelics like psilocybin (mushrooms) and methylone (MDMA).
Across all the challenges humans experience, mental health is a common denominator, amplifying other obstacles, including trauma, prolonged stress and disconnection. Among military service members and veterans, this crisis is especially acute — shaped by exposure to trauma, prolonged stress, and challenges in reintegration. While current treatments provide support, they often fall short for those with complex or deeply rooted experiences, leaving too many without lasting relief.
What’s needed is a new generation of care — approaches that go beyond managing symptoms to address underlying trauma and restore mental resilience at its core.
