Hydration

How can hydration boost your brain?

Dehydration can cause feelings of lethargy and slow down your system, but it may feel difficult to drink the commonly suggested eight glasses a day, especially when you aren’t used to doing so. Getting started and forming a habit to drink more water each day is scientifically proven to boost overall health and wellbeing.

SCIENCE SAYS:

Caffeine and sugar are both dehydrants, so while juice, soda and coffee may contain water, it’s important to drink plain water too. Water boosts skin health, digestion and brain function, as well as assisting in flushing toxins from the brain and body and oxygenating the brain through blood circulation.

WAYS TO BEGIN:

  • Not just caffeine and sugar! Have a glass of water alongside your fun drink.
  • Start the day right by having a glass of water soon after waking up.
  • Keep a glass or reusable bottle of water close by while working and running errands.
  • Remind yourself to sip water throughout the day rather than waiting until you feel dehydrated.
