Path to Healthier Brains

Tom Insel, MD

America’s approach to mental illness isn’t working. Medical and psychological treatments have improved, yet outcomes have gotten worse. Dr. Tom Insel – neuroscientist, psychiatrist, former director of the National Institute of Mental Health and author – offers a different path to mental health. This talk includes concepts from his book Healing: Our Path From Mental Illness to Mental Health, which expands the approach from a narrow medical model to a recovery model based upon the three P’s – People, Place and Purpose.
