How Blood Can Now Tell Us About Brain Health: Integration and Implementation of Blood Biomarkers for Alzheimer's Disease
The use of blood biomarkers to detect Alzheimer's disease has advanced significantly in both capability and scope. As a result, the integration of such biomarkers into clinical practice and Alzheimer's disease clinical trials has become an increasingly important area of focus. Recently approved blood-based diagnostic tests are beginning to enter clinical settings, although guidance on their optimal use and implementation continues to evolve. Dr. Petersen's research presentation reviews the current landscape of blood biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease, including their context of use, clinical applications, limitations, and future directions.
