Adam Gazzaley , Founder of Neuroscape.
Dr. Adam Gazzaley, professor in neurology, physiology and psychiatry at University of California, San Francisco, is founder executive director of Neuroscape, a translational neuroscience center engaged in technology creation and scientific research.
Dr. Gazzaley designs novel brain assessment and optimization tools to impact education, wellness and medicine, including custom-designed, closed-loop video games integrated with the latest advancements in software and hardware. These new tools are then tested through rigorous research studies to evaluate their impact on multiple aspects of brain function and physiology.
He wrote and hosted the PBS special The Distracted Mind With Dr. Adam Gazzaley and co-authored The Distracted Mind: Ancient Brains in a High-Tech World (MIT Press) with Dr. Larry Rosen. He has received many awards and honors, including the Science Educator Award from the Society for Neuroscience and the PROSE Award for Biomedicine and Neuroscience (2017).
Dr. Gazzaley is also co-founder and chief science advisor of Akili Interactive Labs and co-founder and chief scientist of JAZZ Venture Partners. He has served as a scientific advisor for Apple, GE, Nielsen, Deloitte, Magic Leap, the VOID, and the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition. He has filed multiple patents for his inventions, authored 130+ scientific articles and delivered 600+ invited presentations around the world.
