Co-Leader, Philanthropy

Julie Carter Heckmann helps lead the philanthropy team in securing financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations for BrainHealth®’s scientific research and translational programming. She and her team oversee donor events and engagement opportunities, stewardship activities and BrainHealth’s advisory board. She also guides the Friends of BrainHealth, a philanthropic circle that directly impacts the Center’s scientific study, and the Center’s Think Ahead Group (TAG), a group of young professionals passionate about brain health.
Julie began her career at Center for BrainHealth as a college intern more than a decade ago, and now serves as the assistant director of philanthropic development. She is dedicated to the purposeful work of the Center for BrainHealth because it is a cause that truly impacts every individual, and she loves connecting people to areas of involvement and support that are meaningful to them.
Julie is a magna cum laude graduate of Texas Christian University with a major in advertising and public relations. She was a member of the Junior League of Dallas for seven years, where she served in various leadership roles.
