Dr. Sanjay Gupta is the multiple Emmy and Peabody award-winning chief medical correspondent for CNN and host of the podcast Chasing Life. A practicing neurosurgeon, Dr. Gupta is also special correspondent for CBS’s 60 Minutes and a five-time New York Times best-selling author.
He has been awarded seven Emmys, four Peabodys and a DuPont, considered the Pulitzer Prize of broadcast journalism. Since 2001, Dr. Gupta has covered the most important health stories in the United States and around the world. Since 2020, he has served as a trusted guide to viewers worldwide on navigating between facts and fiction surrounding Covid-19 and the pandemic.
Dr. Gupta is an associate professor of neurosurgery at Emory University Hospital and associate chief of neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He serves as a diplomat of the American Board of Neurosurgery. In 2019, Gupta was elected to the National Academy of Medicine, one of the highest honors in the medical field.
His most rewarding role, he says, is being a devoted father to three teenage daughters.
