The 2024 AWARE Affair is shaking up traditional fundraising norms with "Boots, Buckles and Brain Health," hosted at Gilley’s Dallas on April 12. This year's event promises a down-home western feel as they honor key figures in the fight against Alzheimer’s, with Sharon Walker and Barbara Mathes slated to receive the prestigious AWARE awards. Co-chaired Angie Carpenter, Dr. Kamilia Smith and Lacey Young, the event aims to lasso in support for Alzheimer’s research with an auction, buffet and live music to tap your boots to. Proceeds from the event will benefit a lineup of 15 organizations and programs that combat Alzheimer’s, including Center for BrainHealth. Funds raised during the AWARE Affair will help provide essential care navigation services and fund groundbreaking research initiatives, underscoring the collective effort needed to tackle this pressing public health challenge.
