Center for BrainHealth

Center for BrainHealth®, one of the country’s leading centers for pioneering brain research and translational science, held its annual Legacy event honoring Emy Lou and Jerry Baldridge. With a Valentine’s theme, the virtual Legacy of Love event raised over $193,000 to help the Center for BrainHealth advance its mission.Attendees enjoyed an exquisite dinner prepared and home-delivered by Royal Chef Darren McGrady from Eating Royally. Center for BrainHealth founder and chief director Dr. Sandra Bond Chapman offered a virtual toast along with University of Texas at Dallas president Dr. Richard Benson and past board chair Debbie Francis. As part of the celebration, the Baldridges received many Valentine’s Day cards from BrainHealth board members, friends and family. They also told their dinner guests to bring or share something that reminds them of love.Dr. Chapman made the following remarks: “Emy Lou and Jerry, thank you all so much for being such an instrumental part to BrainHealth. We have loved you from the very start, and our love continues to grow by getting to know just how passionate your hearts are for this brain health endeavor.”Despite the challenges of the pandemic and a powerful snowstorm, Legacy of Love was a success thanks to the flexible BrainHealth staff as well as the creative minds of honorary chairs Jane Smith and Dee Wyly and dinner chairs Mary Bloom and Laura Bloom Gordon.“We are overwhelmed with love and feel very honored to receive the Legacy Award. Our lifelong mission of championing children’s causes and providing resources to inspire people from all walks of life to take advantage of their brain health is our greatest treasure,” said Jerry Baldridge.
