Theodore Price, PhD – Professor in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, UT Dallas
About the Talk
Dr. Theodore Price will discuss work in the Center for Advanced Pain Studies (CAPS) at UTD focused on developing non-opioid pain therapeutics. He will describe how his lab works with the Southwest Transplant Alliance in Dallas, and with neurosurgeons around the country, to profile the molecular composition of pain circuits in human, and how they change when people have chronic pain. He will then describe how his group uses this data to validate targets and develop non-opioid pain therapeutics. This will include talking about the seven (7) companies that have been spun out of CAPS to achieve commercialization of these ideas and products.
