Danny Girton

Danny Girton, Assistant Director of Philanthropy.

Co-Leader, Philanthropy

Danny Girton helps oversee the philanthropy program’s pursuit of gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations to advance BrainHealth® investigations and translational efforts. In collaboration with Center for BrainHealth leadership, Danny prepares and propels the department’s annual and multi-year strategies for achieving key goals in support of the center's priority initiatives.
Prior to joining BrainHealth, Danny managed the International Philanthropy and Principal Giving program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In that role, he cultivated relationships with the institution's leading physician-scientists and friends. As one of his most meaningful contributions while overseeing supporters of MSK's life-saving mission, Danny facilitated pediatric neuroblastoma research and studies concentrating on stem cells as tools for brain repair and for modeling brain disease.
Danny earned a double major in communications and English from Boston College as an AHANA scholar, followed by post-graduate coursework in International Business and Entrepreneurship and a master's in integrated marketing communications.
Also a dedicated yoga and meditation practitioner, Danny is profoundly intrigued by the brain’s neuroplasticity and how, when neurons wire together by firing together, we can take substantive steps toward flourishing and fulfilling our potential.
