"As architects, the only thing we have are our brains. How do we get the most out of that? What do we do to help employees get the most out of their most precious resource?" – Dan Noble, Chairman and CEO at HKS
The answer – elevate brain health to fuel our productivity, connectivity, clarity, resilience and emotional balance. Distinct from mental health's focus on injury or disease, brain health offers a proactive approach to lifestyle medicine shown to help people make the most of their capacity to thrive in life.

"Better brain health benefits every single person. As the evidence mounts, it will soon become the norm for organizations to invest in this form of talent building for advancement at every leadership level, as well as improving brain health and performance across the entire workforce." – Sandi Chapman, PhD, Chief Director
Under Dr. Chapman's direction, Center for BrainHealth has been researching this topic since 1999, long before the quest for optimal performance started a brain health trend. Decades of BrainHealth research shows how daily habits make a difference, and "brain-healthy" practices enhance cognitive health and well-being across the lifespan. In fact, the center has launched the Brainomics™ Venture, focused on a new, multi-disciplinary field that joins cognitive neuroscience, health, economics and policy science, among others, in an effort to translate 30 years of brain health science into economic impacts

“The conversations happening now about investing in brain health and performance were simply not happening 10 or even five years ago. The now-demonstrated reality of neuroplasticity — your brain’s life-long ability to change depending on how you use it and care for it — has ignited interest across the investment community." – Andrew Nevin, PhD, Inaugural Director, Brainomics Venture
With brain health's current traction among business leaders and consumers, investors are following – growing the potential of translational research. Using BrainHealth's science-backed tools, like the BrainHealth Index and Strategic Memory Advanced Reasooning Training (SMART™), organizations like the Dallas-based architecture firm HKS can offer employees brain training – generating a ripple effect within their circles. Now, when HKS designs for clients, they seek to create "brain-healthy" spaces that encourage others to prioritize brain health in the workplace. Eric Bennett applies his experience in finance as chair of the BrainHealth Capital Campaign. In recent years, Bennett has seen advances in neuroscience lay the groundwork for capital investments to support brain health.

“”

"It has created hope for the investment ecosystem about the brain and caused investment funds to look at the brain. Three years ago, I was aware of just one venture fund that focused on the brain. Now I am aware of 20 pure venture capital funds that do so." – Eric Bennett, Chief Investment Officer of Tolleson Wealth Management
On the cusp of so much change and potential, Center for BrainHealth remains poised to harness new opportunities and continue shaping the science of cognitive improvement, broadening public understanding and access to science-backed brain health tools across Texas and beyond.

“”

"As public comprehension of brain health and performance increases, combined with the power of AI and machine learning, we expect to see exponentially higher interest in our mission from public and private funding sources. We remain committed to new discovery and quickly translating it into practical tools that people can leverage to create broad impact." – Stephen B. White, JD, Chief Operating Officer
